Surgical Technician - Surgery
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology, as well as the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities
-Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
-Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols throughout the surgical process.
-Collect and document patient data accurately.
-Monitor patients' conditions before, during, and after surgery, providing critical care as needed.
-Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems effectively for documentation and communication.
-Demonstrate proficiency in hospital medicine and medical-surgical practices.
-Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
-Operate and monitor autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and other sterilization equipment.
-Package instruments and maintain proper documentation of sterilization cycles.
-Ensure sterility standards are maintained according to infection control policies.
-Perform biological and chemical tests to verify sterilization efficacy.

Qualifications
-Proven experience as a Surgical Technician or in a similar role within a hospital or clinical setting.
-Familiarity with EHR systems is preferred.
-Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
-Ability to analyze situations quickly and respond appropriately under pressure.
-Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to surgical technology are a plus.
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
-Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
